Turbidity

MTU High-Precision Turbidity Analyzer

Low-Range Turbidity

High-precision low-range turbidity analyzer for drinking water treatment and filtration monitoring.

  • 0.001 NTU resolution with automatic multi-range switching
  • Drinking water compliance monitoring per ISO 7027
  • Built-in bubble elimination for stable low-range readings

Overview

A low-range turbidity analyzer continuously measures the clarity of treated and filtered water, verifying filtration performance and drinking water compliance at NTU levels far below what process turbidity meters can resolve.

The MTU High-Precision Turbidity Analyzer strictly complies with the ISO 7027 international standard and uses the 90° light scattering principle. A focused light beam emitted from the sensor's optical module enters the sample chamber and is scattered by suspended particles. The photodetector captures the light scattered at a 90° angle from the incident beam; the intensity of this scattered light is directly proportional to the turbidity of the sample.

Typical Applications

Turbidity monitoring at water treatment plants: pre-filtration, post-filtration, sedimentation stage and plant outletMunicipal water distribution network turbidity monitoringWastewater treatment plant effluent monitoring, including membrane filtration and plant outletIndustrial water quality monitoring: circulating cooling water, activated carbon filter outlet, membrane filtration effluent and boiler feedwater

Features

  • Built-in bubble elimination device effectively removes interference caused by air bubbles, ensuring stable readings under varying flow and pressure conditions
  • Intelligent data processing algorithm balances fast response during sample changes with stable readings during steady-state conditions
  • Light source compensation technology minimizes the effect of temperature fluctuations on the light source, improving long-term stability and extending calibration intervals
  • Optional automatic sludge discharge kit periodically removes sediment from the bottom of the flow cell, reducing manual maintenance
