Overview
A turbidity sensor measures the cloudiness of water caused by suspended particles — a key indicator of filtration performance, treatment efficiency and discharge quality.
The IDT Integrated Digital Turbidity Sensor operates on the principle that infrared light emitted by the light source undergoes absorption, reflection and scattering when it passes through a sample. Within a certain range, the intensity of the scattered light is proportional to the turbidity or suspended solids concentration. The IDT utilizes two sets of photodetectors at 135° and 90° angles to capture scattered light and calculates the turbidity or suspended solids concentration by analyzing the intensity of these signals.
