Public Drinking-Water Points
Multi-Scenario Drinking-Water Monitoring in Liujiang District, Liuzhou
1 / 2Project Background
Liujiang District in Liuzhou extended drinking-water quality supervision beyond its township water plants to the public places where people actually drink — school canteens, hospital and clinic canteens, and government office canteens.
Customer Challenge
Many types of public water points, spread across the district, all needed to come under unified online monitoring — a coverage and management challenge that manual sampling could never meet.
The TENGINE Solution
Forty-four C6000 online water quality monitors were deployed across the district's township water plants and public canteens, bringing every scenario under real-time online monitoring.
Implementation
Forty-four monitors were installed across the township plants and the district's school, hospital and government canteens, unified on one online supervision network.
Project Results
All key public drinking-water scenarios in the district are now covered online: the authority sees water quality at every point in real time, safeguarding public water safety at schools, hospitals and government sites.
Related Case Studies

The plant's raw water comes from an upstream reservoir whose quality swings constantly: sediment wash-in from rainstorms, summer algae blooms and organic-matter spikes, drought-period changes. Worse, by the time abnormal water reached the plant intake and was detected, several hours had already passed — the best window for response was gone.

The upgraded plant demanded high accuracy on difficult measurements — low-turbidity drinking water and residual chlorine among them — with instruments that integrate stably into the plant's automation system. Site conditions threw up real problems too, such as abnormal inlet flow conditions, and the schedule required fast technical response and on-site problem solving.

A surface water plant has many treatment stages, and running them on operator experience alone leaves blind spots: filter backwash timing, sedimentation-basin sludge discharge and disinfectant dosing could not be adjusted dynamically against actual water conditions, risking off-spec finished water.
