Effluent Compliance Monitoring
Industrial Effluent Online Monitoring with MECIE, Vietnam
1 / 2Project Background
Turnkey online effluent monitoring for an industrial pollution source in Vietnam, delivered with local partner MECIE.
Customer Challenge
The site had no online water-quality monitoring at all — only manual grab sampling — so discharge indicators could not be tracked continuously. Vietnam's new environmental regulations mandate online monitoring installations at pollution sources, and the customer faced administrative penalty risk without compliant, always-on data.
The TENGINE Solution
Monitoring parameters: COD, Ammonia Nitrogen, pH and Suspended Solids. Products: UVC Integrated Online COD Sensor, Ammonia Nitrogen Online Analyzer, pH Analyzer and SS Online Suspended Solids Monitoring System, integrated in a compact monitoring cabinet with data logger for continuous transmission.
Implementation
UVC Integrated Online COD Sensor, DNH Ammonia Nitrogen Sensor (ISE Method), pH Analyzer and SS Suspended Solids Monitoring System installed in a weather-proof monitoring cabinet, wired to a data logger for real-time regulatory reporting.
Project Results
The customer achieved 24/7 online monitoring of discharge indicators, fully meeting Vietnam's mandatory environmental requirements — eliminating penalty exposure, enabling early warning of water-quality anomalies and optimizing the wastewater treatment process.
Related Case Studies

Plant effluent discharges directly into the Wei River. As a key river outfall, it demands extremely high data accuracy, stability and continuity. Conventional supervision lacked real-time data, making dynamic outfall control and anomaly tracing impossible; the region also faces national-section quality assessments, requiring credible, traceable online data.

Industrial wastewater mixed into the influent caused large quality swings. Denitrification needed flexible control, but manual lab testing lagged — making it impossible to predict total-nitrogen exceedance or guide carbon dosing, creating an effluent-compliance risk.

A door manufacturer needed to monitor its factory discharge outlet to ensure compliance and avoid environmental violations, but lacked continuous monitoring.
